SD Bay halibut Hunt 3/2 or 3/3
I was reading on another post that some wanted to launch from Shelter Island, hit the bait barge and do some Halibut hunting. I was looking at the tides for Sat and Sun and Sat has the better tide movement of the weekend. Preferd launch time would be about 6:00 to paddle to the barge. I personally won't be able to launch until 7 A.M. but still willing to hook up with everyone who's in for doing this.
So who's in?

Saturday
Hey Jimmy. That was me who started that. I may not be able to go after all. If I can go, it will be Saturday. Hopefully....

I'll be out there on Sunday - hopefully there isn't top to bottom bait everywhere like the last time I targeted halibut.

Yep that was you. I thought maybe if we made the invite more visible others might want to join in. With Rock fish season opening on the first, I'm guessing a lot of people will be heading out of La Jolla. I also thought about launching in Mission bay and paddling out to the Point Loma kelp. I liked that paddle.

just a heads up, the tide's are not in your favor either weekend day if you are heading out the channel in SD bay

Good point, we would be fighting the incoming tide. If I'm able to head out it looks like Sunday is my best chance. Launch at 6, paddle the bait barge, paddle over to North Island and work my way back toward Shelter Island using the tide to make a nice little drift.

I've been wanting to get out on the big bay to target some halibut. I'll check my shedule and post if I can make it or not by friday morning. I'm going to need to get a new pick up tube for my hobie bait tank because it fell off last weekend in Mission Bay...bad luck haha

Personally Sunday works best for me. So I'll plan for that day. Launching at 6. Let me know if anyone is down for that.
