O'side, 02-01

Just got back in, fished Oceansude today. Water was smooth in the morning and the wind picked up around 11am. After that it would blow a little, calm down, then blow a little, etc.

Water was whatever, my temp thing doesn't read well, either that or that was a very cool 72 degrees. It wasn't bad though.

Bait at the receiver was anchovies, medium size but lively.

Headed out to the deeper AR2 reefs to start, got a couple of nibbles but nothing big enough for the chives I guess. Then headed in to the inside reefs in 40-45 feet of water. Caught a lot of small sandies and a couple of small calicos, as well as a 9" halibut. It didn't even have it's eyes all the way over. Did manage to get a 14" sandie on a smaller dead squid, he came home for dinner.

Headed back in about 5pm.

awesome day in the water. Was talking about hitting up the AR. Never really made it out there with luck.

If anyone ever needs anyone to go out to the reef with I live about a mile from the harbor on Camp Pendleton. I launch out of the base harbor and hoop the there all the time and have never fished out at either of the reefs. I would be totally down to head out there and do a lil recon of the area.
