Dana Point
Weather was supposed to be about 20 degrees warmer. Up early, at the boat ramp around 5:20 unload and to the headlands by 6:20. What an incredible sun-rise.
On my way out, for the first time, I had an encounter with a whale. Stealthy creatures. Heard the blow of water/air and caught the glimpse of the back half of the whale dive down. What's so amazing was how close to the outside harbor jetty it was. There was a lot of sea-life. Seals were out in force. The birds were all sitting/floating around. Schools of bait swimming through, but my bait tank was not pumping so I didn't try too hard to make the bait. Had the squid so I was fine. Worked a specific area I saw bait swim in and out of and this is what wanted to play. . . |

Whales scare and amaze me at the same time. I'm never sure if I should be following them or getting he hell out of dodge?

Making me jealous. I've been out of the game for almost 2 months thanks to illness, back problems, and wind.
