Have not surf fished for years. Want a little change of pace.
Dana point north to Long Beach. Any suggestions on locations, gear and techniques would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Matt |

What are you looking to target?
If you want to go small the Barred surf perch are getting close to spawning now, If you want to go large the bat rays and Leos are starting to make a fairly good showing.... Pick your poison.... |

so you want to join Team Shark Hunters?
have Jaws (joe) and Taylor take you out. Doheny, salt creek and CDM are good areas for big critters. I'd offer a free trip but im off to Florida now.

Weather's been too iffy to take the kayak out but an hour or two from the shore is a nice filler. Last edited by DanaPT; 12-26-2012 at 08:55 PM. |

yep great site use some crack (gulp 2" sand worms in camo) on a Carolina rig for perch also small lures like kastmaters, rapalas or spoons work well with the vina's and hali's i usually fish mission beach next to the jetty. rising tide seems to have best results for me.

Chris,
Looks like you boys had some fun out there. The best parts are that your butt does not hurt after a long day in a yak and there is no kayak to wash when you get home. Thanks. |
