First time launching my tarpon 140 from la Jolla shores today. It was a bit nerve wrecking but the launch went rather smooth. Paddled out and started looking for structure on my echo 300c. (First time using a fish finder) probably passed a ton of areas not realizing it, but finally found some marks in about 180ft. And managed a few reds and a few other miscellaneous rock fish. It was a nice flat day with minimal wind until about 1:30. On the way in I nearly went over in the surf but managed to stay upright and jumped out right before the yak tipped in about 3ft of water. All in all today was a big success for my first time.

Good job fight finding the fish!
Not sure if you know this but most yard sales happen in shallow water.
