?Bug Question?

Just grabbed a few lobster from the Pacific Ocean! And I am on my way home I can't eat them tell tomorrow afternoon, what's the best way to keep them fresh? Live in the fridge? Just tails in the fridge?

Put a wet rag on top of em. They'll be alive for awhile

Next time grab some kelp to throw on your friends. When I get home I put my bugs in a large Tupperware container with the kelp in the fridge. They'll keep for a day or two. If I know I'm going to keep them longer like a week or two I let them chill in the fridge for a few hours so they "go to sleep".. Then I blanch them in boiling water for 40 sec or so and then immediately take them out and soak them in ice cold water for a few minutes. Then I'll seperate the carpas from the tail and vacuum seal the tails in the freezer. This has worked great for me..

I worked in a seafood market years ago and we got our maine lobster shipped in packed in wet news paper with cold packs on top. I don't know how long the shipping was but they were fine. Mike

Wet wood shavings will keep them good for 2-3 days in the fridge.
