How would one do it from a yak? I get a small amount from shore.

I know spots prawns are in real deep water 500 +
But they are good eating!

I tried using a 6 foot cast net from a little canoe back in the tidal areas of North Carolina. It is difficult from a standing position but can be done. Sitting down would be a challenge.

I agree Spot Shrimp are tasty, but probably not be practical given the depth.
I was thinking about getting a prawn trap and using it to catch shrimp for bait... Sheepshead comes to mind, also Opaleye, etc. Will post my experiences when I finish my research and acquisition stage |
