power for lowrance elite-5
curious to know if running a 12v 5 amp will power this fish finder all day?

Look and see what the amp/hour rating is. A 6ah will run the Lowrance most of the day, a 12ah will run it for all day and into the night. I use this one and have not run this battery down even after 12+ hours on the water.

At this point, I wouldn't go without the 12ah. You can find them on eBay for less then $20.

I had an extra 12v 5amp sitting around from my old RC racing days. I used it to power up my starter box. trying to save on wieght.

The 12ah battery I have is a little larger than the 7ah, wieghs about the same, but last for a very long time.
