In the market for a new yak
I have owned a stealth and an x factor , both I have enjoyed and was pleased with. I'm very comfortable on the water and now want a yak that is fast and moves well. I'm a big guy at 250 pounds and 5' 10". Is an extreme the way to go or an trident ? Or is there a yak I'm missing . Please no comments about hobies ! Ya I know you guys are the cool kids ! But I'm good with paddling with my arms.
Thanks Johnny |

i dont know much about big kayaks (i'm only 5'7 and 140lbs). but i heard alot of good things about the Cobra fish n dive. that's an option. and i'd say stay clear from the scrambler, scrambler xt, and scupper pro. those kayaks are real narrow.

Another option for a good paddling kayak is the Wilderness Systems Tarpon. Both the 140 and 160 meet your requirements.

I have a nice trident 15 for sale. The tridents are nice and fast due to being so long i belive 15 feet 11 inches is what mine measures (idk why they didnt just call it a 16 lol) they are narrow but still have stability. Also has the rodpod which is nice for landings for your poles and the sonar shield seems to keep the fishfinder dry in wet surf launches.

Try wetting the xfactor a little more.

But then again, I'm really thinking about going to the dark side. Having your hands free seems to be the way to go, sorry ![]() |

With the way things are going there may be a new law which forces yaks to be hands free ! |
