Thought about towing a 'trailer' behind your yak?
I'm still planning a 3-4 day trip down the colorado river, camping along the way. The biggest challenge will be hauling enough stuff for the trip. I've been thinking about a trailer of some kind.

We used to do 3 day trips in the boy scouts every year in the lower Colorado. It was alot of fun, but we used actual touring kayaks we made from plans and skinned with naugahyde. Plenty of room inside for all the camping supplies. I've done week long trips in Baja with my much more modern touring kayak. The limiting factor is packing enough water there...
More problematic with a sit-on-top where there is little in-hull space to store stuff... |
