Blind squirrel strikes again.

After hearing of YT coming up in the afternoon I hit the water at the crack of 10:00 and headed for the NW corner. It felt like the good old days because there were plenty of green and brown macks just outside the can. Headed around the corner and didn'd see any signs of fish and all the birds were around the sporties. A few skiffs stayed in the area and the sporties came and went a few times with out catching any thing. Later the New Seaforth moved back outside and dropped the pick about 100 feet inside of me. I still hadn't seen any boils but there were some birds circleing off thier bow. Did a slow greenie troll over the area and got picked up. Fish went stait in to the bullkelp. Had 65 braid w/40 fluoro and started cutting. By the time fish met gaff I had like 5 big kelps floating around the kayak. I haven't caught a LJ YT in 2 years and had forgotten how tough strong and smart these fish are. I didn't look up much but I imagine I gave RJ and 50 passengers a decent show. MIke

Is that why I can't find a YT?next time I go out I'm poking both my eyes and fishing blind.

Congrats on another nice fish. Time on the water ALWAYS pays off!
