side handle leak
I performed a leak test on my Scrambler 11 and found both side handles were leaking from the rivets, 8 rivets total. Should I be concerned or is this normal? They look to be well above the water line but still in the "splash zone". Would a bead of silicone help keep water from coming in or should I consider re-riveting using a sealant? Also will the stress of using the side handles for transport negate any of the work performed? I have no access from the inside. Any expert advice is appreciated.

i say. . .
don't fret, but pick up a manual bilge pump like this: http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0COIBEPMCMAA
Look to keep it somewhere handy, but I'm doubting you'd need it for the rivet holes. I get small amounts of water in my hull that I sponge out at the end of each session. Good luck. |
