Fun with LEDs
Sat down, had a glass of Jameson and made a LED light with my friend Kat. That's just the bottom of a beer can. Poked some holes for the LEDs stuck them in, wired them together with the appropriate resistors. After the wiring was encapsulated in resin I stripped off the majority of the aluminum can leaving only the bottom for a reflector. Let there be light. The result is a waterproof light that produces 110 lumens in a narrow spot and it should run for about 6 hours on a standard 9v Alkaline. I'm going to use this as a mobile squid light I can deploy with a float. The idea is to carry several at a time. Drop them like you would multiple hoop nets. Light several areas at the same time, and then I can paddle from light to light and see which ones pull up bait. Jim |

Very nice!
Is that fiberglass resin you're using? Is that Jameson taken straight or are you doctoring it up? |
