65lb braid . Mono top shot. Make sure you have braid friendly guides. Use squid, live or fresh dead, or live macs fish near or in the kelp or on the edge of a drop off. You have to launch between midnight and 3am . Dress warm. And they only bite two puffs into a cigarette or when you get the jetboil going to make coffee . If you smoke, they like the residual smell of Marlboro reds.
None of this matters though since theres no fish in California
