More on Sun Protection
Sun Protection is a Must I had to get 6 needle shots behind my ear to numb the area Then they taped my ear to the side of my head while this was setting in Once numb they Sliced the two areas from my head. They sent those to the Pathologist to have them analyzed to see if it had all been removed. Then they got out the Cauterizing too and used that to close the wound and then stitched it up. I had to wait about 15 minutes for the report from the Pathologist. Doctor walks in and says, “We didn’t get it all we have to go deeper the cancer tissue is more inward that outward.” There isn’t much area on the ear for that to happen. The process above minus the shots was done all again. This time I have a hole that goes through my ear that was stitched up. 15 minutes later the Pathologist gives us the thumbs up that it has all be removed. Thank God, I didn’t have much ear left for them to work on. I know that we are all tough and think nothing can happen to me, I don’t need a hat, sunscreen, or whatever. We preach about safety on the water so that we all can fish another day, well if you’re dead from skin cancer the only thing we’ll be doing is decomposing and not fishing. I for one want to fish and note decompose. Wear a good had, buff, sun clothing, or whatever keeps you protected. If you have any sores on you that just will not heal, it’s probably skin cancer, go have it taken care of. If you are fare skinned like me you should be checked every 6 months, or at least once a year. I hope this helps someone protect themselves and hopefully add more years to your life.

Sun Protection FTW!!! I too, rather be fishing than decomposing.
I always wear my hat but need to practice using sun block. It's too bad I can't put that stuff on my face, it'll cause all kinds of acne inflammation.

I use the baby sunscreens because they are designed for skin health and protection. They don't cause acne and are very protective and gentle. The other ones I like are Blue Lizard, Aloe Gator, and other Aloe based sunscreens.

I was going to try and get out tomorrow but the pain is starting to kick in and I think I will make sure that I am recovered a little more before going out.
