LB breakwall 2/24

after much internal debate on where to fish, i decided to just launch from 72nd street and paddle to the wall. launched at 6:30. got to wall at 7am. fished until 12noon overcast entire day. no wind. TONS OF BAIT. FLAT WATER INSIDE. 2-3ft swell outside.

i am still trying to figure out depths and areas of where to find rockfish so today i solely fished with bait in an attempt to try to dial in on the RF before the season opens up.

myself: 3 sculpin (8-14") 1 cabezon (16") 1 brown rockfish (12") 1 starfish (10")
friend: 3 sculpin (8-14") 1 cabezon (22") 1 sandie (10")

only took a picture before we launched.

since nearly every wall trip is the same for us, here are pics of last time we went.

Sounds like some good practice. I definitely want to get out there again, I didn't really fish the break wall.

All species of rockfish including cabezon, sculpin and greenling are closed until march 1st exept for divers and shore anglers. Huge fine. Easily avoidable.

yeah the regulations confuse me sometimes so i dont even bother taking the risk. it says sculpin is closed to all boat based anglers but half day boats can still keep sculpin? too confusing. and i cant wait until friday.. ROCKFISHING OPENS UP!
