Going to try out Lake Cuyamaca for trout this Saturday. Anyone have recent reports?

No up to date reports. Kayaks not allowed on the lake this time of the year.

I hit up the lake 1 week after the stock and it was slow all day. I had only one catch that was the normal stock size. However one guy walked by about mid day with a 3 to 4 pounder. We were fishing across the dam on the back sice out on the point of the Island. It is one of my most favored fishing spots because normally it is quite active and i normally pull my limit with a variety of sizes.

Call the lake and see if they'll tell you when the next "pump back" is happening...this is when they move water from an outside reserve to the lake. We got lucky enough to be there last year right after a pump back and the fishing was excellent. Other poster is correct tho, no yaks till Memorial Day.

Leave the fairy wands and trout noodles at home! Get yourself a heavy swimbait rod with 25# test and a few Huddlestron or Triple Trout swimbaits. You would be surprised the number of DD bass in that lake due to the amount of trout they stock it with.

No recent reports...but looks like fun...according to the website, it appeasrs its float tubes that aren't allowed till memorial day. Kayaks boats have to do the fresh water wash down before for 5 bucks. If yaks arent allowed, my buddy and I are ready to rent one of the tiny skiffs there...ahhh, brings back childhood memories of early morning fishing on a tiny aluminum skiff with the old man...lol
