#Winning!

So a few buds and I made a silly bet late last year. We found the " Instant Fisherman" on sale, 2 for $20. Biggest fish on it in 2012 wins.

You may have seen the infomercial

When we all got them, it was unbelievable how much of a POS these things were. Still, I was the one to the first fish on it, a bluegill that I had to handline in because the gears seized up. The only other guys that have attempted to use them have only lost lures, as the line snapped when they casted. I'm not sure what they were using in the commercial, because it was NOT the instant fisherman.

I get the idea that I needed to 30lb power pro on mine, and decide that I am going to own this silly little bet and get a real game fish on it. Went to the land of giants, and hooked up big time.

Here is the vid of some of the action, Enjoy. Thank You Instant Fisherman!

Pretty funny!!! Sad in the end but funny.

Reminds me of the time "Unreel" lost his reel seat to a 300+ T shark, and ended up fighting it in with just a TLD30 2-speed in his hands.

You came pretty close. Definately had me going. There was a point where I was cringing thinking you were about to loose your drive over the side...lol

I kid you not years ago my friends and I had a contest on who could land the largest fish on a original "Pocket fisherman", and I tried land a mako on one. Let's just say it did not go well.

Another time we were trying to see if any of us could land a Seabass on a Bucks Mini Reel. It took several tries but I eventually got one.

Nice try though! You did good to get it that close. Without the rod attached it was going to be hard no matter what to actually lift it to the gaff.

Jim
