Use lobster for bait.
just kidding, target them the same way you target rock fish live squid is best. sheepsheads are few and far between so if you hook one up, consider it a winnig lottery ticket. Last edited by driftwood; 12-05-2011 at 06:49 AM. |

Sheephead eat straight off the bottom. they like to pick through the rocks. I have always had good success with a carolina rig and cutbait will work well also.

Weird reply. Working today, driving up Bolsa Chica, about to get on the 22 East. Stopped at a light, i see some fish on the side of the road... WTF?!?
5 good size sheeps 5 - 8 lbs & one RF all dumped in a pile on the side of the road, miles from the ocean. I tried to figure out some theories, but I'm stumped. / Anybody like 48 hrs mystery |
