Shimano Torium .
I have had this reel serviced, new drags installed, Can anyone tell me why it sounds like a coffee grinder? I clean it and lightly lube it after each use. Is this just the nature of the beast?
It's caught a lot of fish over the years, but its down right embarrassing its so loud. Any ideas? Thanks |

Have you ever heard newells? Mine sound like heck but still cast a mile. As far as the grinding sound try greesing the gears I did this to a couple of my reels and it helped with the grinding. Try it out hope it helps

If you're capable take it apart and clean it with a clean paint brush. You'd be surprised what a small grain of sand can do to a reel.

Most obvious is the clicker off? Number two did u buy it brand new? If u didn't it might have a dc paw upgrade very popular and it will make a click sound when u turn the handle
