Epic trips. Saw Captain Shane last weekend in la jolla fishing lobster. He comes up and says hey "I'm captain Shane of the Islander" I was like i know i been on your trips. He points me in the direction of a school of Yellows he passed by. I didn't end up finding them but still even after 6 months pass, he is still providing that customer service. Great boat can't wait for next years trips.

If the trip happens and there are no wsb or yt I'll be pounding sand for Hali's again. If I would have spent more time doing this during the last trip I'm sure I would have pulled up something in the 20lb class.....................I know they're out there.

SCI is LOADED with hali's.I went on the Islander in 2008 and 'ed a beast easily a 36 incher and probably much bigger.I mowed the lawn in that spot and got another that was just short.I am dying to go again.

the islander trips are absolutely MUST DO for any kayak angler. I've done 5 already and had to cancel the one this year because my damn kids and their stupid baseball

for me, it's all about the calico, especially on the slugs. it's like crack and I'm an addict.

soon as the schedule comes out I'm going to book one (or two!!!) which knowing my stupid ass luck will conflict with some baseball tournament or something. why couldn't my kids be computer nerds or something.

"hey dad, there's a big computer show in town. can we go. I wanna see to see the new 1000 megaherherz infinite co-processor running in vitual parallel memory space"

"ask your mother you losers":bigg rinjester:

dad's busy

CJ as long as the dates don't interfere with other our other trip already inked...
put me and Pierpont down for the 2.5 day...

first or second week of June would be the shizzle...
I 'll keep my fingers crossed the dates don't intersect...

the OEX trips on Islander and San Killmany have been good to us!

I sure hope the dates allow us to go again!!!

I call shot gun!!!!

I've never done the 1.5 day trip but I hear from the guys that have done it that you feel rushed, this IS NOT the case with the 2.5day trip. I recall not being in a rush to get out of bed and launch because I knew there would be more than enough time to fish. Speaking of running out of time, I caught my personal best hali (at the time) on my last bait on the last day in the last hour of the trip.

I remember that. I kept getting hit and loosing a fish. Worked the area for a good 40 minutes to an hour. I gave up and you and i think his name was Todd came over that same spot after slamming those rock fish. Some trophy halis out there. Im for sure in on the 2.5.

Just out of curiosity, how much do the 2 or 2.5 day trips cost? I'm interested and want to start saving up
