Spam emails
I signed up for BWE a few weeks ago.
I have notice a big increase in my spam emails since then. Is there anyway to limit the spammers from getting our email addresses?? |

Increase in spam you're getting is likely a coincidence.
While having spammers and spam bots occasionally post on BWE and other public forums, I can assure you that they have no way of getting hold of your email address through BWE. By default, your email address is not visible in your user profile. I have looked up the email addresses you used to register on BWE - I see it is available on multiple sites on the web. Sooner or later, any email address on the web will be picked up by spam bots - they search and catalog any text string with the @ symbol in the middle, and use it to send spam. I'll send you a PM with specific pages I found - you may want to look into removing it from those pages. Your ISP provides email spam protection filters - you should also look into your account settings to beef up the spam protection level. |
