If one of us had to break off, I am glad it was me.........really I am

Cody's first kayak yellowtail

Caught it on a flylined spanish just before 7 AM, north of the hotel. Took him to the kelp and thought he lost it. Started winding in and found the fish still there. Cody let me have the second, broke me off when the spectra dug into itself as it was running. Back on the beach around 8:30..........mission complete.

Nice one Cody! Andy, is it time to pick up a mini-x?

similar results for me yesterday: breakoff on a bigger yeller on 20# (rocked) and a 8#er that I released. The current was ripping to the south so hard we could only make .5 mph headway against it. made it tough to stay in the deeper water. hooked both yellers in 50 feet. the shallow water made it pretty easy for that bigger fish to put me on the rocks.

you and Cody game for friday am?

Cody's got his, my lady is up on Friday. She's caught yt, but not from the yak.

I loved Cody's response when I turned on his light around 5 AM "Time to get up"

"Are you serious?"

Was there to see Cody land his first yellowtail. I don't know if the smile on dads face or the fish was bigger.
Cody now needs a Fishing handle name. Maybe " ICE CUBE "
Nice fish Cody, You made your dad VERY proud.
