8/3 Oh, the pm shift...
Launched at 330, with Romel. 1-2ft waves, light SW wind, and 73 degree water. Bait was tough past the can. Ran into Tyler, who said the same... Romel and I came across some bait being chased.. Picked up a couple of greenies and loaded up on macs. I started throwing the iron.. HOOK UP! F-in reel.. Drags again. Fight the fish, bring it up to the boat and lose it at color... A rat yellow. I throw out the JIMI again, and get slammed.. A calico.. Oh well.. Hailed Tyler on the radio, he had the same fate (losing his fish @ color).. Romel and I decide to go out a little deeper. He hooks up and lands his fish. I pinned on a mac and start to troll west. ZZZZZZZ!!! it didn't fight hard and actually swam to the boat, I didn't think it was a yellow until the thumpin. Damn ProGear!!!

yeah Dennis! congrats!
looked like a very nice evening when the sun went down, i was surfing Casa's and it glassed off nicely, solid south-west swell...finally! dude, your progears you need to open them up and grease your drags.. go down to Squidco and get some Cal's drag grease, it will keep it from getting salt infusion and from locking up... check out this link to do it yourself.. http://senortuna.com/main/showthread.php?t=14573 this guy Alan Tani, he's worked on alot of my reels for LR. his tutorials are insane and now i service all my reels myself.. even my big 2-speeds, really easy when you follow his tutorials.. |
