Warning...video killed the novella!
It was bound to happen sooner or later. The truth is writing long winded posts take time. I don't know about you, but time's a valuable commodity these days. With internet drama being dominated by Thresher Sharks and a Mola Mola making the nightly news...what in the hell is this world coming to? Can't we just get back to flaming guys who catch tons of White Sea Bass, Yellowtail and Halibut? What's going to make the news next, kelp? A Sea lion eating everything in sight? Sand?
Anyway, as the title reads, I've opened a Vimeo account. Which was a major project in itself. Why waste your time writing a cool little report about your latest catch; when you can just let the footage speak for itself? Don't get me wrong, writing a long post just to have the same-five-haters pile on is fun. Hell, many times, It's the best part. Which is why some of us write these reports in the first place. That said, I plan on letting the videos tell the story more often than not. From here on out---I'm going to make a conscious effort to start actually turning the camera on. Which is really hard when you're surrounded by fish. You'll just have to trust me on this. Every time I'm surrounded by fish the hands instantly go for the rod. Naturally. After all, I am a fisherman! Before you watch the video, I'll go ahead and warn you, I'm not a tech savvy guy. I'm easily confused with anything that involves a computer. True story: it took me a year to figure out how to put a photo where I wanted it in my posts. I had someone put up all my photos---the year I won West Coast Whoppers. Sad, yes, but also true. As soon as I figure out how to put my footage to a bumpin' Fiddy Cent track---it's on like Donkey Kong! Contrary to popular belief, hardcore rap, and fishing, go together like Peanut Butter and Jam. If you don't think so, well, you should change the way you fish! My kind of Bass fishing! from Josh Pruitt on Vimeo.

That's a very well-done preview. I like it. Is there more to this or are you just teasing us?

What about a fly rod? Is that like bringing a spoon to a knife gun fight?

Reading between the lines I guess you would say the rats are here and it's time for the average Joe to give it a go. |

Uh-Ohhh. Look out!
I'm with ya, not too savvy with the computer. Thank God for Mac's. A few years back, one lucky guy did the LJ yak slam in one day. Now, if someone were to get the LJ day slam on video? That would be tits... |

Yeah, I sure do....
Was that from the school I spotted that you and I were working Kevin....yep, sidled in right between us didn't he?
This video (in its unaltered/unedited format) is evidence of a fish theft.....dirty play old friend, dirty play. Neat video though, really neat. Well done and everything. Even if you cropped us right out of the video, you could have at least given us honorary mention in the credits. And for the record, that was an awesome hook and hand, you "wield the knife" very well JP. Seriously, great job on the video, I gave up on my Pinnacle editing software after the first attempt. What did you use? |
