Almost got Mr. T at Newport, August 11
The weather was pretty gloomy out there today. Launched out at 8:00 in the morning with one of my buddies, bought some sardines, padded out towards the kelps. First stroll got me a sandbass, and then nothing for a while. At about 11:00, my buddy's reel started zzzzz, he hooked it up, fought for about 10-15 minutes, and since this was his first Mr. T, he didn't know what to do. When i got over to him, it broke off of his line. After that, there was no more bite, then at noon, we headed back home. Will be headed back out there at Newport on Sunday.
