thresher shark C&R on the news
I'm surprised this wasn't posted already.
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?se...rre&id=8247825 Couple of things that make me go..."hmmmm". 1. This wasn't the smartest way to deal with a shark. Publicizing it on the news media probably doesn't help, promote our sport. 2. He says he was worried if he tied everything down. I didn't see any rods before he flipped. Almost looks staged; like he stowed everything away with the intention of flipping the yak. 3. Why not just let it go instead of flipping? Maybe I'm just a cynic.

"self-described hard-core kayak anglers."
1. no seat. 2. no bait tank. 3. no PFD. looked like a tourist in over their head.

Or some guys looking for publicity and intentionally something 'shocking' or 'news worthy'. Makes you wonder how the news media got a hold of their video clip.

I saw this this am and was wondering the same, there was a rod bungied down underneath his leg prior to flipping, also they just happened to have the Go Pro in the water as it was happening, no pfd or anyother equipment on the yak, smells "fishy" to me, but it will get alot of publicity
to say the least. I call BS on this video |
