There are a lot of great places to fish in the bay as well as up at Malibu.

Malibu is a great place to fish... .
..it's a great place to fish with all the usual suspects as far as stuff to catch there goes. Shallow on kelp for bass, sand flats for butts, deep structure for rocks and lings, it's all good.

The bay can be good fishing especially at times for Seabass and Halibut. For local info for fishing around Santa Monica bay contact Larry at In-seine bait in Marina Del Rey. Tell him your a kayaking friend of mine and he'll give you info on what's biting and where. ...he really enjoys sharing info and putting people especially newbies on fish. Great guy, incredibly knowledgeable, highly professional he'll be more then willing to help you out.

Jim

Malibu is like the rest of So.Ca. Kelp, reef, sand and mud. Yellowtail tend to go to the Channel Islands and rarely make a showing in Malibu. Just like La Jolla, the people tend to keep bites quite. ...

Nice!! I enjoy fishing rockfish up there, especially late in the season off county line. Quality fish around there for sure.
