Horizontal rod holder kit
Especially in the case of the Revo, where storage is an issue .......... Coming soon to a store near you .....
Hobie's horizontal rod holder kit. For protecting your rod/s when launching and landing your kayak. The rod tip protector is made to withstand bumping in to docks, bridges, rocks, the beach, etc. Part #72021060 ( pic from thread @ http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewt...p?f=26&t=35650) Last edited by Regor; 05-20-2011 at 07:45 AM. I've been told that they should be in stores around June or July according to Matt Miller on the Hobie forums.

Nice rod protector..better stow that reel as it won't be protected.

I could see that being very handy for bass fishing. Especially when you're trying to get far back in the reeds and under tree branches.

Here's an additional link with some pics that Morgan posted on the rod holders (one with them installed on an outback) http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewt...p?f=26&t=35650 |

UPDATE on Hobie forums

I think it's a start and I'm sure someone will mod it to work for multiple rods for surf launching. |

I have used the paddle bungies to hold up to 6 rods with the reels stowed. Went through plenty of waves just fine without coming loose. Not sure why you need the pocket and clamp but it will probably sell well anyway if you only want to carry one or two rods.
