Sunday 5/15/11-Halibut 24 lbs
I wasn't on the kayak but thought I may be there this week on my kayak. The area is fishable by kayak so I thought my fellow kayakers may want to see the report anyway. I was on the inflatable behind me off Coronado playing bouncy ball with a sardine. Was also hammered by my guess a huge black bass as we chased it for 25 mins in the boat before breaking off something huge that had some truly violent head shakes on 30 lb test that wasnt moving the fish. Hope no one is offended by the use of a boat but you can fish the same area with some paddling off Coronado. Think I may fish halibut in the future when the weather makes La Jolla a tough day. This fish was 39 and 3/4 inches and another was caught in the harbor by a small craft in the harbor by one of the coast guard "no trespassing " piers that was about 33 inches. Hope it was helpful to my fellow yaks-Edward
