Still a WSB virgin for me in 2011
As I launched around 2pm on Tuesday I saw another nice WSB in someone else's truck. Now, I see that Sharon nailed another one in the past few weeks on a trolled Mac, WOW. I continue putting in an hour or so in the weeds targeting WSB on all my dozen or so trips so far this year with only one taker that got away with my Mac. My efforts on behave of Hubbs WSB replenishment program promoting the Bill Poole Memorial Fishing Tournament scheduled for July 30 has yet to provide the good WSB karma I was hoping for. Maybe, I used up all my good WSB karma last year.
Last year the Bill Poole Memorial Tournament BBQ and silent auction were so much fun that we donated quite a bit to this great cause and we walked away with some get items. Please mark your calendars for this fun contest with a great family event BBQ on the 31st. Tours of the Yellowtail brood stock tanks and grow-out pens at Hubbs will be included during the Sunday afternoon event at their Mission Bay location. As you can see by the below attached outline we will have Yellowtail included again this year along with a tuna category with a great opportunity to fish on the Excel on a day and half as part of this tourney with our key sponsor, Ingrid Poole. I hope to see a good turn-out of kayakers and sperafishermen at this year's contest for a cause that we should all apprecaite. 2 million WSB put back in our local waters by Hubbs over the past 20 years certainly played a part in last year's incredible results and Sharon's recent good fortune. You go girl. Hubbs Tourney and raffle formger (2).doc I was targeting WSB when I caught a Yellow last year during the Bill Poole contest and I still can't escape the Yellowtail this year as well. |

A Big WSB is glorious and tasty but I would much rather tug on a 25-30 lb YT.
Nice Picture! |
