Land based gamefish

I thought you guys might be interested in this spot I have been checking out.

From this spot in Nelson Bay Australia they land nice game fish. This time of year 50lb bluefin and kingfish are common. They have also caught huge cobia and marlin. Everyone just floats livebait under balloons. I have even heard reorts of fish being caught on jigs under bait schools. One half mile from here is a completely protected bay you could easily launch the yak from. I am going to be spending some time here and am definitely going to give it a shot. I also wanted to let you know my friend Dan has a booth at Day at the Docks this weekend. He told me he has a whole batch of jigs rigged with rings ready to go. If you get a chance stop by.

Nelson Bay is about 100 miles north of Sydney, on the East Coast. The guy on Bloody Decks was rock fishing in Shark Bay, in Western Australia. From what I've seen, there are a number of areas around Australia that have cliffs from which pelagic species can be caught. A fair number of guys also fall in and are lost every year. They got some incredible fisheries in Australia and kayak fishing is really taking off down there.

I saw that on Inside Sportfishing. Make sure to take lots of pictures if you go, sounds really cool.
