La Jolla quickie

Haven't posted a report in a long time so here ya go. Slept through my alarms this morning and woke up unmotivated. Finally decided to stop being worthless around noon and launched from my favorite spot. Made one greenie at the greenie hotel as soon as i got out and couldn't find the school again. threw it on the flyline and paddled out past the bull kelp. Was dropping jigs on lobster pots when line started peeling in the tune of "right kind". Got him to color in a few minutes and he took two runs straight to the bottom. I finally got on top of him and he wrapped around a tree. Damn. With a little coaxing I popped him off the stalk and reached for my ........eh, forgot my gaff. Tailed his ass onto my lap and was back on the sand in 90 minutes.

It was a beautiful day to be alive in San Diego.

Thanks to the bros in the boat for the OTWS

38" id say upper 20's

Nice , for an unmotivated afternoon of 90 minutes!
Wonder what kind of damage you could have done in a few hours!
Congrats on an awesome fish.

Dude, the tail on that beast is huge! Must have been fun holding on when he headed for the bushes. Way to come out on top!

Gotta love fall in San Diego!
