Oil Rigs - Anyone ever fish that far out?

Any of the SoCal guys paddle out to the oil rigs? I know dudes do that back east and in the south, but I was just curious on ours.

FWIW, I have no idea how far they actually are out to sea. From Huntington it doesn't seem too far, but what the hell do I know.... LOL

Ah, so once in HH, you're limited to the space between the Warner Rd bridge and the PCH bridge?

How about the wetlands in there? I see there is a Nat Refuge area that's buoyed off, but it looks like the most NW arm is open...?

Technically not allowed within 100 yards..........we have fished Esther (mile off Seal Beach) we launched from Seal Beach, from the kayaks at night and fished within 10 yards while a crew man fished right from the platform. Ticket-able offense.........maybe I know boaters that vertically jig right up on em.
