Imperial Beach, Silver Strand & Coronado Beach
Does anyone launch and fish in these areas by kayak?
For this coming Monday & Tuesday, waves are predicted in those areas to be 1.5' high, 16 sec intervals. I enjoy moving around for variety and was wondering if these might be good areas to look for halibut this time of year?

I’ve never launched out of silver strand the waves are usually too rough but I’d bet it’s a great area to look for halibut. Bring a good kayak cart because the water is a long way off from the parking lot.
And grunion run is a great time to target halibut. |

Yes, and that's why the forecast for flat & easy waves piqued my interest to share this information and launch this thread for some feed back. http://www.surf-forecast.com/breaks/...latest/six_day The forcast for waves and intervals are the same for Silver Strand and Coronado Beaches. Imperial Beach used to be famous for halibut (and for sewage spills coming up form the Tijuana River). Lots of places used to be famous that are nothing special now. I don't know if this area is currently productive or not.
