New to the sport and in need of advice

Hello everyone,
A few months ago I acquired a kayak that has has just been collecting dust and now I'm finally ready to try it out. I plan on hitting sea bridge park in the morning since it looks protected. I have nooooo kayak expirience whatsoever and relying on the countless YouTube videos I've watched to get thru my first outing. I will greatly appreciate any help and advice you guys send my way.
Thank you and tight lines

Practice with an empty kayak, getting back in your kayak in open water. Always wear a pfd.
