MDR

Decided to hit up the marina for a short session since it's close to home and haven't fished there for a while.
On the water at 6 at Mother's beach .
Conditions were nice.
No breeze and water was pretty clean.
Picked up 1 Sandy and 1 Spotty on the troll out to the breakwall.
Bass were fighting to hit the underspin on the inside of the breakwall for a good 2 hrs.
Ended up with 8 Calicos, 2 Sandies, 1 Spotty.
Lost a few as well.
Baby seals and pelicans were a bit annoying.
Wind and tide at my back so easy paddle to launch.
Off the water by 11.
All and all a fun morning

Awesome work. I'm still fighting to catch consistent legals out of MDR, especially away from the break wall. You aren't the first person to mention underspins/blades in that area, so maybe that's the next thing I need to focus on when I head out.

Thanks for the report!

I might have to give MDR a shot Saturday morning to try my luck. Tides look good and hopefully the wind stays away.

Just a little bit farther of a drive, but thanks for the offer Bob!

Hey fellas
Just remembered there were flyers on the pay parking machines that said Mother's beach lot is closed on the 9th and 10th. It said something
about alternative lots to park but I don't recall what they were.
Might have to launch somewhere else.
Cheers, Steve

Good call, thanks Steve.

I've been launching at the public boat launch (last basin on the E side) and its a MUCH easier paddle from Mothers. I wont launch at the beach again unless I'm out with the misses or want to look for Halibut in the cove...
