Solana Kelp 11/24
Launched the SUP at Dog Beach @ about 6am. Made it out easy and paddled to the kelp. Found an outlying lobster buoy and sent down a dropper loop with squid strips. Bit after about 10 seconds, lost it, and gear, in the kelp. Kept on that way for about an hour, getting bit every drop. All in all, brought up thre sheephead, two calicos and two sandies. Kept three fish for lunch. Hooked a bunch of others but I was fishing straight 15# mono (havent got the Lexa spooled up with braid yet) and lost alot of gear and fish. Not too much action on the plastics or the waxwing. Off the water by 9. Overall, a SUPer fun day!

Nice. How far out were you? What depth?

I hit what I call the "2nd kelp", just past the first if you launch from dog beach heading NW. Not sure how deep as I don't have a fishfinder, still trying to figure that one out!
