Florida 7th report - little red drum
Another short report. I haven't had a chance to get out and do a proper ocean day in a while. Ally and I paddled the Indian River Lagoon a few weeks ago. First stop was an island with a sandy beach. You can see some dark clouds brewing out over the ocean.
We paddled through a pretty good storm as we headed over to Pelican Island. The rain stopped when we got the mangroves though, so we were able to do a little fishing. Ally fished bait and caught a hundred or so hardhead catfish. I threw small lures and caught one fish, my first red drum. I've heard they get bigger. We got a pretty good workout from fighting the wind, but all in all it was a great day. Miles: 8.52 Hours: 4:48 |
