Wow, such great videos & pics... hope it's ok for me to just tack my pics onto your thread here? I haven't even had time to go thru some of my video. I did skim some of our pics.
We had a great trip, and I'd really like to thank everyone on the boat... staff and all the BWE fellow anglers.. for all being super kind, patient, and those extra sets of eyes on our boys. Connor had a great time. I learned a lot about kayak fishing.. and the trip really drove home the point that this catching stuff is not just random dumb luck that you guys catch the big fish. I really need to spend more time on the water, and learn more from you guys! Here are a some pics from our time on the Islander. If I have some decent video, I'll post up later.. Connor really wanted to get our first legal halibut, but we mainly took sheepshead, and released 5 decent calicos. As usual, my son kicked my butt.. catching 4 sheepshead and 4 calicos, to my 2 sheepshead and 1 calico. lesson learned.. don't attach your game clip with something weak, like a thin red strip of velcro, and then drag it thru kelp (or a sea lion).. I lost both of these fish and my game clip 50yds from the boat. *thanks for this great pic, Honcho! The Islander docked by 6AM, and I managed to get back home in the OC in time for church, and this Princess' 6-year birthday party! But, not before she got to take a picture with big bro's sheepshead! What a trooper.. not grossed out or afraid at all.. so maybe there's hope for another kayak angler in the near future! |
