FULL MOON FISHING

SO what do YOU think? Please post your thoughts on this subject.

Everyone has an opinion of fishing the full moon. Some are sure it will make for better fishing, others would never fish a full moon. Personally I like full moon trips. April in Las Encantadas, yes last month we scored two WSB in the 50 lb range during the full moon. Lot's of bigger halibut are landed a few days after the full moon.

The FULL MOON For MAY is he 14th. The BAJA EXPRESS leaves on the 8th and returns on the 18th. There are still a couple, 3 spaces available. SUNDAY will be the last day to confirm this trip as we need time to do our meal planing and grocery shipping on MON-WED. We leave early Thursday morning. All Aboard the BAJA EXPRESS.

Hey Bob,
I've always thought (based on my personal notes) that the best fishing takes place 2-3 nights before the full moon and 2-3 nights after.
I have never had any real luck on the actual full moon nights.

I look forward to finally meeting you this weekend.

I believe a full moon and new moon make for killer fishing, a few nights before, during, and after the phases when it comes to Sandbass. The bigger tide swings make for faster current which really churns up the bottom and riles up the SB at night. They love all the little crabs and clams that are brought up off of the bottom. The faster the current the better the bite is for those nocturnal suckers. Which puts it around Full moons and new moons.

Also up in Canada a few nights before and after the full moon really get the SMB flared up during spawning season. The full moon brings out the pigs!

Larger tide movement improves most fisheries. Full and new moons cause the larger tides. I wish I got to pick my fishing trips around tides but I go when I can and make the best out of it. Night fishing with a full moon is nice. Mike

I'm not sure if it does by my experience, but according to this site, new moon and full moon makes for better fishing. My dad told me about this site. He lives in Florida and checks it for fishing all the time.

Yup that's what I thought was best times as well. A few days before and after. Confused about best time as I have been told mornings are best before full moon and afternoons best after full moon. I fish when I am able to and only wish I had luxury of fishing based on moon and chart. I just hope the two align.

I've fished and hoopnetted during, before and after full moons............I still can't tell if it made a difference.

Love bay of LA. You can take your PA. It's pretty safe and the locals are trusty. Great yellowtail fishing 3 miles out to islands.

Guys, thank you for your input, looks like most agree fishing is better, full moon, new moon. So now maybe it is time some of us newbees incorporate this information into their tool boxes. Full moon is coming, good luck to all. Yes they ARE out there, get some.
