Tried to watch ,didn't make it all the way thru. For those of you in the know can
a native Hawaiian kayak angler sell their catch or do they have some sort of commercial license?

If you are selling your catch you need to have a commercial license. Even in Hawaii were you don't need a fishing license to fish recreationally. See link below.

You don't in California either as I've recently discovered. Article 1 Section 25 of the California Constitution, check it out.

The production of this show is wearing on me. Again Kimi in the Trident, then the Scrambler, back and forth. The show is just too piecemealed together. They try to add confusion and excitement in choppy short clips. Surprised they are not working to make you care about the characters, seems that would be crucial, back stories, home life.........lacking some key components.
Again tangles and lost fish and sharks that are just added footage

Last night had Isaac and partner making a 5 mile trek down the river to get to an area too rocky to launch from.......then after, they landed smiling on a nice serene sandy stretch of beach.

They supposedly pulled off the river and camped out but showed none of that, we were supposed to believe that because they asked each other how they slept.........still great camera work, fire the producer!

What's next? Are the production boats going to hook up on giant fish and hand them the rod after they mothership them out to rough areas?

Like I have said this before ......

...... You could make a better quality show and with a chef showing how to cook the awesome catch in his kitchen

Think cooking channel.

.....shoot based in La Jolla with trips to Baja, Hawaii, Central Coast, Alaska,
Floriduh, High Sierra .......

The same bendo shot over and over again didn't bother me the first two episodes, but the honeymoon period is over and I'm starting to feel insulted. No doubt I'll still keep coming back week after week to be disgusted. =)

I have figured out a way to watch it without falling asleep. DVR it and keep your thumb on the FF button. Watched the parts of that episode that looked worth playing in 20 minutes.

It says, "by statute, may regulate the season and method of take". Nothing about the license.

Here's some case law for ya too!

Murdock v. Penn., 319 US 105 (1943)
No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and attach a fee to it.

Shuttlesworth v. Birmingham, 373 US 262 (1963)
If the State converts a liberty into a privilege, the Citizen can engage in the right with impunity.

Miller v. U.S., 230 F. 2nd. 486, 489 (5th Cir. 1959) Id. at 489-490
The claim and exercise of a Constitutional right cannot be converted into a crime.

Where you been in Kevin? Good luck trying to use that argument in court. Its pretty clear in the fish and game code.

Article 2. General Provisions - California Fish and Game Code Section 7121

Quote:
7121. Except as otherwise provided by this code or by regulation,
it is unlawful to sell or purchase any fish or amphibia taken in, or
brought into, the waters of the state, or brought ashore at any point
in the state.
It is unlawful to buy, sell, or possess in any place of business
where fish are bought, sold, or processed, any fish or amphibia taken
on any boat, barge, or vessel which carries sport fishermen, except
those fish may be possessed in such a place only for the purposes of
canning or smoking under regulations adopted by the commission.

Caught the show this morning and loved it... Get to see many different types of kayaker and methods of take..

Not seeing how it's like wicked tuna or the drama as each have their own personal goals and not competing with each other.. And great footage as well..

Did enjoy seeing the rookie not listen to the seasoned pro and have to be rescued by a boat.. Sounds like he would fit right in at LJ 😊

Not a fishing show and not a full blown drama, somewhere in between.

I'll take any little bit of fishing I can get on TV, but I wish it was more catching and less lip smacking. It was the first show so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully the fishing will ramp up.
