Feb 3rd 2015 La jolla.
Was not as wide open as it seems it has been for others recently. Definitely still tons of bait out there. Worked the iron half the day. Dropped on what looked to be yellowtail marks on a few occasions. No biters on the jig. On the bait though, about 10 seconds after it hit the ground. Didn't see anyone else hook up on the right kind today. Boat or kayak.

Saw you at the landing, nice fish. I was out in the middle of all the boats after the New Seaforth left the am trip and saw 3 yellow being landed but I did not have any luck. Tried drifting with a sardine near the bottom and Yo Yoing the iron. There sure was a strong current flow after about 10am.

The seaforth was due west maybe 1/2-3/4 of mile and looks like they did pretty well this evening.

Not a problem. There definitely still around. But some pretty heavy boat pressure yesterday.
Also, I had a chance to test out the new GT parts on my v2 drive and could notice a difference with the first couple kicks. The resistance feels almost non-existent. Personally think it was worth the money. |

Good day for sure! Very fishy out there. I missed my chance, should've switched to bait. Was set on using the iron. I'll be back.. Haha. Nice meeting you Cesar. Hopefully see you out there sooner than later. Great fish, Brandon. Cheers!

Nice to meet you Cesar. If you ever need anyone to head out with in the San Diego area, let me know. Fishing solo at times is peaceful, however Working together and calling others into bites can be beneficial. Got a pretty good yield off the fish. And definitely getting better with the knife. I kept the fish on ice for 24 hours before cutting which really helped. |

Man I'm getting hungry looking at the filet pictures. Some cooked Yellowtail and some Balast Point Pale Ale. YUM YUM!
