LJ 6/2 = WSB time.

Late start for first trip of the year. Launched at 0630, made one greenie and 5 spaniards in the huge puddles of bait past the can. Trolling the greenie high by 0730. Sometime around 0800 thought bait snagged kelp, but thanks to circle hook, the "kelp" had a nice head shake. Fun long ride and lots of pulling before eventually sticking the WSB. Thought it was over 50.

While one of the guys was taking my picture, he was bit and landed what looked like a 20lb. WSB (his first - hope he posts the pictures).

Left the beach by 0930 and saw a few more smaller WSB on the beach. Took the fish to OEX, only wieghed 43.2, but is good enough for June leaderboard.

Did you enter the WSB derby? It looks like most of the bigger models have moved out, so that might have you in the money. Congrats on a beauty.

pink boat

The "Pink Beast" made a 2003 copy of Western Outdoors magazine when Jim Salmons submitted a pic of me with the 52 lb. WSB I caught on my maiden voiage with my used pink yak.
