King Harbor 7/5/13
The plan was to get up early and be on the water before 6:00am. Well after enjoying the 4th of July night and celebrating my sister's B-Day ...I was not in the best conditions and woke up late. My buddy and I had the Malibu two XL on the water by 7:30am and b-lined it towards the bait barge. Only to find out the bait barge was fenced up and closed . Well Plan B...throw the Kastmaster and some 5" Big Hammer with no high hopes. The water was calm and after a 1.5 hours of nothing in the harbor we decided to head out just outside the Harbor and finally found some fish. Two calicos 18" & 14" and 16" sandbass. Sure was nice to be on the water this morning.

that sucks about the bait barge! good to know... I need to figure out sabikis and squid rigs.. and how to make bait, squid, out on the water! Did you bring any dead squid? Where did you go? Canyons? Artificial reef? Thanks for the report. If you ever want any company out there, PM me.. I'd like to try this area, as well as Marina del Rey.
