Double Rig

The Bass are starting to stack up on the structure spots in SM Bay and the Double Rig is a fun way to fish them...
It's amazing how hard two Bass can pull...LOL...
Chad at Hookup Baits showed me his rigging and it works pretty good...
The key is a quality Owner 3 way barrel swivel...I tie it to the main line then add a 10 to 12" leader and a 20 to 24" to each side of the swivel then tie on my plastics...
These guys and some Calicos were on the bite at the Artificial reefs last week...

On a side note...
I finally got my skiff running again and found all you wanted Short Cuda on the Horeshoe yesterday...Nothing over 27"...LOL

I’ve seen that double rig before. I want to give that a try some time.

Jim, how do you keep the two baits from getting tangled?

The staggered leader lengths helps...but the real key is the OWNER 3 Way Swivel...
It's made from quality barrel type swivels and it seems to keep the lines/baits apart.

Chad has about 4 or 5 sizes on the Hookup site...if you can't find em at your local tackle shop.
If you have two artificial baits with some great action on the drop...it's a deadly rig...be ready for some good pulling on your Bass rod...
...and... "don't blink on the sink"...LOL

Works awesome. Gives the action of two fleeing baitfish.
Could also rig up the donkey rig if you can’t find those 3 way swivels.
