SD bay 2/13/14

What to say same as always about 20+ spots, baby hali in the channel, and a bunch of lizard fish. Some of those things were like 16 inches long. Fish were stacked between 30 to 40 feet of water. Tons of short strikes on 3.5 smelt and ghost shrimp. Swapped to a shorter plastic and started connecting more consistent. Nothing big no pics just fun. As for depth deeper or shallower there was slim pickings. Launched out of Coronado. Winds calm until noon. Current and winds opposed. Good luck.

Nice to hear it was a strong fish on day though! Thanks for the update, I was behind a desk all day. I will be out on Sunday though. Keep the updates coming!

I was out this morning and saw Defjack out in his homemade wooden balsa kayak powered by mirage turbo drive.

Spotties were going off today and I caught over 30 in less than 3 hours.

Sunday will be bonefish day with Taggermike.

I have owned ONNO paddles but I like my current Werner Camano the best.

Everything short

I was out on the Bay yesterday also. Launched from Shelter Island @ 7:30 and picked up a scoop of anchovies. Went across the channel and drifted with the outgoing tide to the end of the jetty a couple of times. Managed 10 halibut from 13" to 21", 3 short Sand bass and 3 octopus.
The weather was incredible and the wind did not come up in the afternoon so I was able to fish until 5:00 pm. Great day on the water. For some reason I just can't seem to get that keeper Halibut.

Man good pick of short halls. Too bad no legals. Just keep at it you will nail the bigger units on the dines. What depth were you getting them at.
