Slow day in LB Harbor
fished grissom and the surrounding area with the boy from 9:30 to 2. Yeild was 1 sculpin (12 inches) returned to the sea. A few other bites on the cut squid nothing on the plastic. Wind was moving us pretty quick had to hide some.

Well, at least you got out there with your boy. Try going earlier next time. I've personally had my best luck in the dark and up to about 2hrs after sunrise. After that, just a slow pick. Plus, going early you usually miss the wind.

Yes it is always nice to fish with him. He isn't really a boy anymore (22 and about to graduate) but we both love to fish. We were supposed to get out an hour earlier but both had difficulty waking up. We have been out several times to this area and white island. yesterday it was breezy as soon as we got there. He'll be back in the summer and I'm sure we'll get out plenty then. We will be looking to expand our fishing areas and get to Cabrillo more often, and maybe try redondo and dana. I need to improve my paddling endurance before taking on too much more.

Graduating at 22 these days is very rare. Well done.
