Need help re winter baja fishing spots...
Hey fellas. Long time reader in need of some experience/direction re where to fish in baja from a 13' inflatable. Heading gown mid january for a couple of weeks, and would love to know where I could get on some grouper, yellows, or anything else worth eating.
In addition, is there a good site to go to get up to date fishing reports for that area? Thanks in advance for your help. Aaron Last edited by corazondeloso; 12-19-2013 at 10:26 PM. |

Mostly depends on how far you want to drive , but there are loads of winter places to fish in Baja. Winter and spring can be super windy on the sea of cortez but there are nice days mixed in. Gonzaga, LA Bay, or just keep driving south. Any where from San Quintin north should have good rock fish. The Pacific side south of Punta Eugenia is super calm in the winter. Asuncion would be a great place in Jan with a great shot at YT but maybe not on the grouper. Get on googlemaps find a spot that looks good and go. Mike

At the san tomas reef off ensenada you can catch ling cod, red snapper, and boccacio in the winter. Very good eating
