First Surf Launch!
I launched at La Jolla today( my first) with my week old Hobie Pro Angler Great fun! I paddled out to the edge of the kelp beds past Alligator Point. The water was beautiful and lots of bait fish swimming around. I saw barracuda, mackerel, dolphin and what looked to be some kind of perch. Maybe some are wondering why I'm so excited. I've never been a fisherman and just seeing the fish made my day. I'll be disappointed if I don't get a WSB my next trip. Coming back in was fun also.
I talked to several Yakers while I was out there and everyone was very friendly and willing to give advise. Thanks allot |

You've had your taste. Soon you will be hooked. There is no cure.
Welcome to our little family. Bob |

Congrats toby - I'd be excited too. I have a feeling going out there just to look at stuff is an adventure in itself. Did you spill it going out or coming back in?

I didn't spill it but I did take two or three over the bow. Didn't seem to be a big deal. I had my peddles out and my rudder up so they wouldn't flip me. Tim |

I think I'm already hooked Bob. I have another kayak, a folding kayak called a Folbot. It has an aluminum tube frame which wouldn't be real sturdy launching through the surf. Its allot of fun though. The Hobie is going to be much better for fishing. Tim |

We all agree to that. We just love to paddle around and have a beer.http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/i...es/biggrin.gif
